Kindergarten

Welcome to Kindergarten!

Kindergarten is an exciting year! Kids will not only learn the basics of reading, writing, and math, but also how to be a great member of their classroom community. Here's a look at what your child will be learning this year.

  • Literacy: We'll build strong early literacy skills, including phonemic awareness, phonics, and vocabulary, through engaging activities and personalized instruction.
  • Math: Hands-on exploration of numbers up to 31, basic addition and subtraction, patterns, sorting, classifying, and shape recognition.
  • Science: Introduction to weather, natural resources (reduce, reuse, recycle), and plant and animal habitats, fostering curiosity through observations and simple experiments.
  • Social Studies: Learning about rules, community, diverse cultures, basic geography, and economic concepts like needs and wants.
  • Physical Activity: Building community, learning rules, moving safely, and having fun while exploring PE equipment and working with others.
  • Social and Emotional Growth: Developing skills for taking turns, working together, and building positive relationships.
